COMPUTER SCIENCE RESEARCH

Faculty members are affiliated with several laboratories based on their research areas :

  • In Virtual and Augmented Reality, faculty are hosted by the "Computer Science, Bioinformatics, and Complex Systems" laboratory (IBISC, EA 4526) at the University of Paris-Saclay, as part of the IRA2 team, which focuses on "Interactions, Virtual and Augmented Reality, and Ambient Robotics."

  • In Operations Research, faculty are affiliated with two main laboratories: the Cedric Laboratory at CNAM (HESAM), with which there is a longstanding partnership, particularly in the management of the MPRO master's program, and the "Distributed Services, Architectures, Modeling, Validation, and Network Administration" (SAMOVAR) laboratory at Télécom SudParis (TSP), a research institute under IPP.

  • In Software Science and Distributed Networks and Systems, faculty are hosted by the SAMOVAR laboratory. Faculty members of ensIIE affiliated with SAMOVAR are part of specific research teams depending on their focus area, including ACMES (Algorithms, Components, Models, and Services for Distributed Computing); BENAGIL (Performance and Security in Distributed Systems); NESS (Networks, Systems, and Services); and SOP (Statistics, Optimization, Probabilities).

  • In Environmental Impact of Digital Technologies, faculty are hosted at the Laboratory of Computer Science and Digital Sciences (LISN) at the University of Paris-Saclay.

APPLIED MATHEMATICS RESEARCH

The faculty members are primarily affiliated with the Mathematics and Modeling Laboratory of Evry (LaMME | UMR CNRS 8071) at the University of Evry Paris-Saclay (UEVE). The lab is under the secondary supervision of ensIIE and INRAE, with UEVE and CNRS serving as the main supervising institutions. Faculty from ensIIE affiliated with LaMME are part of the "Probability and Financial Mathematics" and "Statistics and Genome" research teams. One ensIIE faculty member is affiliated with the Borelli Center at ENS Paris-Saclay, with which ensIIE has an industrial chair partnership.

Applications and Implementations Related to the JIN Track

Our latest survey (2021) shows that our JIN graduates (over 200) are approximately 35% working in or around the video game industry, 27% in digital interactions (VR, AR...), and 20% in web or mobile (non-exclusive domains). It is noteworthy that 7% of them are engaged in research (several completed or ongoing theses).
There is clearly no employment issue, as JIN graduates hold the same degree as other ENSIIE/TSP graduates, but with a resume that can make a difference in the competitive gaming industry (with high demand and few offers). The most common jobs upon graduation are software engineer roles, either in specific themes (gameplay, engines, tools, networking, mixed reality...) or more general areas (software engineering, mobile, backend, R&D...).
Companies and game studios range in size, from well-known names to independent startups: Ubisoft, Amplitude, Cyanide, DontNod, Kylotonn, Quantic Dream, Asobo, Evil Empire... for games; Arm, Dassault, CapGemini, Orange, Inétum, Safran... for industry, for example.
Recruiters particularly appreciate advanced technical skills, rooted in solid theoretical knowledge but not tied to specific software, enabling integration into any project type. We believe that students' soft skills, methodology, portfolio, and creativity are also highly valued.
