Situated near Paris and Saclay, Évry-Courcouronnes is a hub of education, research, and innovation, housing educational and research institutions, advanced industries, and competitiveness clusters.

Educational and Research Institutions

The University of Evry Paris-Saclay, Télécom SudParis, IMT Business School, ENSIIE, the Materials Center of Mines ParisTech, and the Génopole with its research laboratories and innovative companies in genomics. These institutions participate in the initiatives of the ESSI association: Evry Senart Sciences and Innovation.

Advanced Industries

SNECMA-SAFRAN, CNES, and Arianespace. Several major service companies also have their headquarters in Evry (e.g., ACCOR Group).

Competitiveness Clusters

Being located in the Paris region fosters connections with the universities of Orsay and Versailles Saint-Quentin, the Saclay site, research centers (CEA, INRIA, CNRS), as well as the numerous companies established there. Thus, ensIIE is a member of the competitiveness clusters: CAP DIGITAL, SYSTEMATIC, OPTICSVALLEY.

ensIIE and Télécom SudParis train about 350 engineers annually in the field of Computer Science and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). The University of Évry Paris-Saclay, a component institution of the University of Paris-Saclay, has several dedicated laboratories. Évry-Courcouronnes is one of the leading training and research centers in this field.

Research at ensIIE

Most of the school's faculty are teacher-researchers (Associate Professors or Full Professors) with a strong research activity. This ensures that our students are well-versed in research and innovation, receive cutting-edge education, and have opportunities to pursue research (master’s and doctorate).

Thus, research initiation is part of the curriculum:

  • Several elective courses are based on the school's research themes,

  • Internships can be conducted in the school's partner research laboratories,

  • Students have the opportunity to concurrently pursue a research master's degree during their third year.

More than 60% of third-year students pursue a research master’s degree concurrently. Several of them continue with a doctoral thesis. This is a notable feature of the school. The teacher-researchers are members of recognized laboratories that partner with the school.

Industrial Data Analitics and Machine Learning Research Chair

Texte
An industrial research chair, positioned in the field of artificial intelligence for industry, was renewed in 2022 for 5 years in collaboration with ENS Paris-Saclay and CEA DAM. The actions undertaken within the framework of the IDAML reseach chair offer the ensIIE interesting visibility through the organization of national and international scientific events with which the ensIIE is associated.

The chair is held by a professor from ensIIE and since its creation. The relationships established in 2018 with Germany within the framework of the chair enabled the sponsorship of ensIIE by the University of Passau to join the Franco-German University (UFA).
