Evry-Courcouronnes, an Academic and Research Hub
Situated near Paris and Saclay, Évry-Courcouronnes is a hub of education, research, and innovation, with educational and research institutions, advanced industries, and centers of excellence.
Educational and research institutions
The University of Evry Paris-Saclay, Télécom SudParis, IMT Business School, ensIIE, the Materials Center of the Mines de Paris school, and the Génopole with its research laboratories and innovative companies in genomics. These institutions participate in the initiatives of the ESSI association: Evry Senart Sciences and Innovation.
Advanced Industries
SNECMA-SAFRAN, CNES, and Arianespace. Several major service companies also have their headquarters in Evry (ACCOR group for example).
Centers of excellence
Being located in the Paris region fosters links with the universities of Orsay and Versailles Saint-Quentin, the Saclay site, research centers (CEA, INRIA, CNRS), as well as the numerous companies established there. Thus, ensIIE is a member of the centers of excellence: CAP DIGITAL, SYSTEMATIC, OPTICSVALLEY.
ensIIE and Télécom SudParis train about 350 engineers annually in the field of Computer Science and Information and Communication Technologies (STIC). The University of Évry Paris-Saclay, a component institution of the University of Paris-Saclay, has several dedicated laboratories. Évry-Courcouronnes is one of the leading training and research centers in this field.
Research at ensIIE
Most of the school's faculty are teacher-researchers (Lecturers or University Professors) with a strong research activity.
This ensures that our students are immersed in research and innovation, receive cutting-edge education and have opportunities to pursue research at the school (master’s and doctorate).
Thus, introduction to research is part of the curriculum:
Several elective courses are based on the school's research themes,
Internships can be completed in the school's partner research laboratories,
Students have the opportunity to concurrently pursue a research master's degree during their third year.
More than 60% of third-year students pursue a research master’s degree concurrently.
Several of them continue with a doctoral thesis. This is a notable feature of the school.
Teacher-researchers are members of laboratories that are recognized partners of the school.
PARTNERSHIPS
An educational partnership agreement was signed in 2022 for 4 years with the CEA/Dam.
This agreement mentions the joint organization of workshop-conferences in the fields of quantum, cybersecurity and virtual reality. These workshops are aimed at students and interested faculty members. In 2022, a quantum computing day was organized by Dimitri Watel as part of the île-de-France Operational Research Days.
IDML Chair
The chair is held by a professor from ensIIE and since its creation. The relationships established in 2018 with Germany within the framework of the chair enabled the sponsorship of ensIIE by the University of Passau to join the Franco-German University (UFA).
DOCTORAL SUPERVISION
In 2023, 11 ensIIE faculty members hold a Qualification to supervise Research (HDR)
Over the period 2018-2023, ensIIE faculty members have participated in the supervision of 23 defended theses.
At the end of 2023, ensIIE faculty members have supervised or co-supervised 32 PhD students, including 11 CIFRE theses among which 4 support contracts were supported by ensIIE.
