Video Games and Digital Interactions

Chapô
The objective is to train engineers with the skills required to design, implement, improve, and evaluate interactive and real-time human-machine systems and/or systems with a strong visual component.
Texte d’introduction
The program begins in semester 3 with general and computer science modules (advanced programming, software engineering, networking, agile methods, etc.) and an initial introduction to video game development.

It continues in semester 4 with more specialized modules related to the targeted fields: virtual and augmented reality, computer graphics, AI, video games, biometrics, digital arts, etc., which can be complemented by additional courses (C++, networking, etc.).

Semester 5 is entirely dedicated to the JIN (Video Games, Interactions, and Digital Collaborations) specialization track in collaboration with Télécom SudParis. The courses and numerous projects allow students to deepen their understanding of technical aspects (human-machine interaction, 3D vision, 3D modeling, real-time rendering, intelligent agents, IoT, networking and cloud computing, mobile development) as well as human aspects (project management, design, video game economics, game design, sociology of innovation, communication). Opportunities for networking are enhanced through various conferences and collaborations with creative professionals.

Students can also spend semesters at partner universities abroad (e.g., UQAC). A dual degree Master’s program can be pursued in the final year (e.g., M2 E3A-RVSI at Université Paris-Saclay).

Since 2015, graduates of the program have built a strong network in the video game industry (Ubisoft, Asobo, Kylotonn, Amplitude, Dontnod, etc.), consulting, and industry (Dassault Systèmes, Holoforge, GFI, Thales, Sopra Steria, etc.).

Citation

JIN is a great opportunity to explore many interesting aspects of computer science while blending in creativity and personal suggestions. The program also provides access to a responsive network of alumni who are always available to share tips, job offers, or meet for drinks on a terrace (when permitted).

JIN is one of the few public programs in the field of video games: its teachings have truly boosted my career over the past year. I have great memories of the program. The former JIN students form a large family that I rely on a lot today.
